I did this procedure 10 mins back on my Ubuntu System:

1. Boot off live CD
2. Open Terminal
3. Type following commands:
    a. sudo grub
    b. find /boot/grub/stage1 it should answer similar to (hd0, 5)
    c. root (hd0, 5)
    d. setup (hd0)
    e. quit
4. reboot PC, you should be done re-installing grub.

I am not sure if this will work on a Suse, but ideally, it should. Since I
do not see any distro specific commands here.

Cheers
Aditya
