Worse for BSD users - no chrome either as yet. Currently Linux-flash
plugin works fine on BSDs through Linux emulation layer.

Do not know whether flash-through-chrome arrangement applies to Linux
version of chrome. Guess not since Adobe won't be supporting Linux at all
in future revisions.

Contrary to the articles saying mozilla is affected, all non Windows users
will be affected, if I understand it right.

Only when people will have to pay from their own pockets to buy Windows
would perhaps there will be a pressure to support open platforms. Namely:

- piracy should be in check

- pre-installed software's cost should be stated separately from that of
hardware and option to not buy the latter must be given.

- Wherever an institution buys software - whether your kid's school or
your dayjob, someone should be questioning the costs of proprietary
software when more cost effective and quality options are available.

(Argh.. they'll give it free to schools and colleges and deliberately
so. Spoil your future buyers at an early age so much that they won't
look for alternatives even if you pay them to do so!)

May sound like day dreaming. But of so many possibilities these are the
ones I found closer to being feasible.

Mayuresh.
